Who the Cuisinart 14 cup Food Processor is For
This is a basic food processor for the everyday low carb lifestyle user. It’s great for preparing recipes, shredding vegetables, cheese and meat. The blades are not adjustable, which is a bummer. If you are a “foodie” and like to really chef in your kitchen, read my review on the Breville BFP800XL Sous Chef Food Processor.
For chopping and slicing, this food processor is a joy to have in your kitchen. It makes short work of vegetable preparation and you can prepare dishes in short fashion. As I am a little more of a family cook, I use my Breville Processor to fine tune recipes I prepare. If you are not as meticulous as I am, this kitchen appliance works great and is liked by many people who use it.
A Sample Low Carb Recipe You Can Make With Your Processor
A good recipe to make with your food processor is cauliflower rice. Simply cut a cauliflower head into chunk pieces. Place the pieces into your food processor and pulse for about half a minute until you get a rice like texture. Take the mixture out and cook in your microwave for 3-4 minutes. I like to chop a mixture like spinach, red and white onions in my processor to add to my cauliflower rice with a little pat of butter to provide a bit of flavor – yum!
My Personal Observations
If you are looking for a food processor to work in this kitchen this is a good basic processor. When chopping up heavier items such as dough or meats, I am a bit skeptical about if this machine is up to the task. If you are just wanting to use the processor to help with your veggies and recipes, I recommend this as a great buy for the price and the use you should get out of this appliance. I give this a 9 out of 10 in terms of satisfaction.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- Sturdy product
- comes with various chopping blades
- has two pulse control buttons
- sizable work bowl
- dishwasher safe for clean up
Cons:
- blades are not adjustable
- may not suitable for processing heavier items such as meats and dough mixing
I use my processor every day and if you are like I am you will come to fall in love with it. Buying vegetables particularly when they are fresh and in season is a habit of mine and the processor saves much labor in chopping and grinding preparation. I live a busy lifestyle and this tool is a real time saver. In terms of being a high priority buy, if you haven’t got a food processor yet, you don’t know what you’re missing!
